 In the Bible, several figures reached moments where they believed their lives or missions had effectively ended, only for God to intervene and establish a "new thing" (Isaiah 43:19). 

Key Biblical Figures and References 

Job  

: 

After losing his children, wealth, and health,  

Job 

reached a state of "raw, honest, and deep anguish," even cursing the day of his birth (Job 3:1-26). He believed his life was over, yet God eventually restored his fortunes, giving him twice as much as he had before (Job 42:10-16). 

Elijah

: Overwhelmed by exhaustion and threats from Queen Jezebel, 

Elijah

 sat under a broom tree and prayed that he might die, saying, "I have had enough, Lord... Take my life" (1 Kings 19:4). God instead provided him with food, rest, and a renewed commission to anoint future kings and his successor, 

Elisha

 (1 Kings 19:5-16).

Naomi

: Following the death of her husband and two sons in Moab, 

Naomi

 returned to Bethlehem "empty" and asked to be called "Mara" (meaning bitter), believing the Almighty had brought calamity upon her (Ruth 1:20-21). God restored her joy and legacy through her daughter-in-law 

Ruth

 and the birth of her grandson, 

Obed

 (Ruth 4:13-17). 

Joseph

: Sold into slavery and later falsely imprisoned, 

Joseph

's life seemed destined for ruin (Genesis 37-39). However, God promoted him to second-in-command of Egypt to save many lives, later declaring that what was meant for evil, God intended for good (Genesis 50:20).

Paul (formerly Saul)

: 

Paul

's original life as a persecutor of Christians ended abruptly when he encountered 

Jesus

 on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). This "end" was the beginning of his new identity as an apostle, teaching that anyone in Christ is a "new creation" (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Peter

: After denying 

Jesus

 three times, 

Peter

's sense of failure was profound (Luke 22:31-34). Despite this, 

Jesus

 specifically prayed for his faith and later restored him to lead the early church (John 21).

Core Themes

The Bible often portrays these moments of "ends" as transitions where God's "mercies are new every morning" (Lamentations 3:22-23) and where "all things work together for good" for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). 

So don't worry, your end is started... leave it God's hands, and you will see His new mercies.
